Boosting the bilateral trading between China and Mexico
Daniel de Prado Escudero, partner at HFG, took part as speaker at the seminar Claves legales para potenciar la relaciòn commercial con China on May 9th, 2022. The seminar, co-hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of Mexico City (“Camara de Comercio de la Ciudad de Mexico”), also saw the partecitpation of Daniel Legaspi, from the Mexican firm Santamarina + Steta, as one of the speakers.
Attended by around 40 people onsite and another 30 online, the seminar enlightened the growth of the bilateral trading between China and Mexico in recent years, when China became Mexico’s first trading partner in Asia-Pacific region and second larger trading partner worldwide.
The seminar underlined the importance of Intellectual Property protection when building up and developing any business in China. Namely, the particularities and challenges of the Chinese market, its legal system and the importance of prevention and protection of the intellectual property assets of a company when facing the development of the Chinese market.
In addition, Daniel also highlighted recent changes in the intellectual property field in China that are causing a great impact on Mexican companies that have his products manufactured in China and then imported into Mexico.
